Lost - in the past, present and the FUTURE!

Warning! I have to warn all of you who haven't seen the finale of Lost season 3 yet. There will be spoilers in the following.

I didn't think Carlton Cuse meant it literally when he said that "these characters have a past, a present, and a FUTURE" in the special episode, Lost: The Answers. But now I think everything can happen on the show. The end of season three marks the midway point of the series.

This is the first time we see a flash forward in the series - but it isn't revealed to be a flash forward until the last minute of the finale. Now we're up for three more seasons discovering everyone's future. This is brilliant story-telling!

This is a great way to bring back Walt - and his growth will appear totally natural in the flash forwards. Is Ben one of the good guys after all? Naomi and her crew could be part of the real Dharma operatives from the outside world. And of course we're going to miss Charlie, though he did help Jack with the escape it seems. An escape he will later regret.

Now we'll have to wait more than six months for the fourth season. Sigh.

Official it is! ABC's drama Lost continues to air until the 2009-2010 television season. The producers of the show previously wanted to finish the whole thing after five seasons, but the network wanted more. Now a final deal has been agreed.

And rather than two seasons consisting of 24 episodes each, there will be three more seasons of 16 episodes. The third season will wrap up at the end of May. Yay, this is so exciting. I'm going to be Lost the next three years too!

Lost to end in 2009?

Rumors are rumors, agreed, but they are so believable they almost hurt. It looks like ABC's incredible show Lost will finish after five seasons - with a lot of questions still needed to be answered until around May 2009. E! Online reports that the network will announce the news in the next few weeks. Furthermore, season four is also said to kick off later than usual in January.

With an end in sight, it's hoped that the series will renew its focus and start wrapping up storylines. I love Lost, so this is both good and bad news. Let's see where it goes.
